o highlight the importance of education amounts to stating the obvious, as significance of learning to optimally actualize one's potential is self-evident. In the same realm, importance of higher education can hardly be underestimated in present day knowledge driven gbbaized world. University education today is actually the most powerful growth engine for any nation. It fosters learning & research, shapes & grooms talent, develops scholars & cultivates ideas, which forms t he building block for intellectual progression of any society and advancement of any country.

At individual level, besides waking for the broader objective of collective wellbeing, higher education refines and individual & makes him objective, balanced, right thinker and a correct decision maker. This is achieved by bringing knowledge from the external world and development of reasoning skills for raining of the human mind. This is why Islam attaches such great importance to knowledge and education. It is no coincidence that the first word of Quran revealed was 'Iqrce that is, 'Read and education is thus the starting points of any successful human activity.

It is heartening to note that University of wah is pursuing the dual objectives of both colective develop--ment and individual enhancement through a wet-structured program, encompassing both curricular and co-cunicular activities. The requirement becomes more penetrating in view of the huge youth bulge Pakistan has, which can be suitably harnessed thought quaity higher education. In this regard, the emphasis being laid on academics, research and practical exposure is particularly creditable and must continue to inculcate in the students those essential traits, which would enable them to handle future challenges. This in my view must remain at the heart of university of wah's approach.

I wish the University all success in its future endeavors and sincerely hope that the institution would continue to grow and make substantial contribution in the progress of country in particular and wellbeing of the community in general.
