TRDP

Thardeep Rural Development Programme (TRDP) is a non-profit organization, registered under the societies Act, working in the rural areas of Tharparkar, Umerkot, Dadu and Jamshoro districts of Sindh, Pakistan. The programme is aimed at facilitating the rural communities in a way that they can be empowered to secure their rights with command over resources and capabilities to manage the process of sustainable development.

For the purpose, Thardeep organizes the local communities and develops their managerial and technical capacity. It also facilitates them in the process of income generation through provision of credit. Besides, Thardeep also extends services in the areas of natural resource management, Social protection, primary health care, education and water. The working strategy of organization is based on the continuous process of research on social issues relevant with and related to community development.

The governance structure of TRDP includes Thardeep General Body, Thardeep Board of Directors, Thardeep management team led by Chief Executive Officer and professionals. The supreme policy making forum of the organization is General Body. It comprises community representative, founder member and technocrats. The General Body elects Board of Directors for a term of two years. Board recruits Chief Executive Officer who leads organization along with the management team. In the beginning of TRDP fiscal year that starts from July 1st every year, the board reviewed and approves Yearly Plan of Operation. The Yearly Plan of Operational is designed on the basis of community needs collected in the process of social mobilization and community conferences.

TRDP is an organisation certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). PCP evaluated TRDP on standards in areas of internal governance, financial management and programme delivery.
