The University of Sufism and Modern Sciences (USMS) is a campus of The University of Sindh Jamshoro at Bhit Shat. It is the first public Sufi higher educational institution in Asia to offer courses which aim to inculcate and root down religious reconciliation and peace through communal and social behavioral change.

The university intends to impart basic information regarding various religions with being non-judgmental for any religion or faith and by focusing on acceptance and appreciation of diversity in terms of cultures, religions, faiths, political views and social multiplicity. The learners will also be engaged and encouraged to understand and practice non-spiritu al facet of the Sufism that adheres to humanistic and moral character through interfaith harmony, peace, love, compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, responsibility, and a concern for others.

Distance Learning Education Program (DLEP) initiates a one-year Post Graduate Diploma (two semesters) on Sufism and Peace from Fall Semester starting from January 2016. DLEP aims to reach out students from far flung areas of Pakistan.

Following course works will be offered during two semesters of Post Graduate Diploma on Sufism and Peace:
1. Introduction to Sufism
2. Relevance and Importance of Sufism in 21st Century
3. Conflict Resolution: Theory and Practice
4. Indus Civilization
5. Human Rights
6. Introducing philosophy of Religion
7. Cross Cultural Psychology
8. Journey to God – Sufis and Dervishes in Islam
9. Ancient Religions of Pakistan and India
10. Terrorism & Violence

Salient features for admission in Post Graduate Diploma in Sufism and Peace through DLEP are:
1. The admission entry requirement is at least 50% marks in Masters Degree of any discipline or equivalent degree from any HEC recognized university whatever applicable.
2. If number of the students in a particular course is less than 10 students, that particular course will not be commenced during that semester.
3. The minimum period required for Post Graduate Diploma in Sufism and Peace through DLEP will be one year (two semesters) while maximum period will be three years (six semesters).
4. Maximum 05 new courses may be opted during a semester. However, there is no limit of re-appearing in a number of courses opted during any previous semester.
5. After enrolling for a course, the student will have to pass all levels of that particular course, i.e. two assignments, one workshop, final written exam and oral presentation in one go or in compartments within maximum consecutive 04 attempts from the entry semester of that particular course provided that the Diploma is completed within 03 years.
6. Student will be guided to download / print study material already available on USMS website. Photo copy of study material may also be sent to the student on his / her special request on payment of additional amount for that particular service.
7. Students are intimated by the part time facilitator / tutor appointed for each course for tutorial guidance. Students are required to send assignments to the facilitator / tutor within prescribed time.
8. The student will have to visit The Sufi University Bhit Shah Campus of The Sindh University or main campus of The Sindh University Jamshoro as an alternate option (if needed) for 07 days (05 days for workshop lectures + 01 day for course final exam + 01 day for oral presentation) for each course opted.
9. The student will be responsible to bear travel costs, accommodation and food expenses to attend workshop lectures, final exam and oral presentation. However, DLEP can facilitate the student in identifying economical hostel etc if available.
10. Medium of instructions and all correspondence and exams etc would be in English Language.
