Peshawar 2.0

Peshawar 2.0 is a social enterprise aimed at building a startup community in Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

It is a citizen/youth-led movement to rebuild and rebrand the City of Peshawar through innovation and entrepreneurship in technology, design and art.

We believe entrepreneurship is an empowering medium to translate creativity and talent of the youth into action that has social and economic impact. It is a medium of expression for the youth, a channel for their passion and energy, a source of income and job creation and the primary driver of a knowledge‐based economy.

By instilling a problem-solving and ‘can‐do’ attitude in our youth – from medics, engineers and scientists to designers, artists and MBAs we are set to inspire a generation of innovators and entrepreneurs in the region.

We have a two-tier strategy 1) to create a vibrant co-working space (‘basecamp’) for talented students that are working on their startups and projects where they can socialize and share ideas, skills, resources and energies 2) to create a network of mentors and seasoned professionals, in the country and abroad, who can ‘give back to the nation’ by investing their experiences, skills, networks and seed money in some of the best youth in the region at the basecamp.

We also intend to add a library, lecture hall and our own hujra for academic discussions to the basecamp and organize regular talks, panel discussions, journal clubs and bootcamps/workshops at the basecamp.

The basecamp will be a unique platform for the Pashtun diaspora from across the world to contribute their part as we build Peshawar 2.0, our dream city. The youth abroad can use it to take up placements or internships in Peshawar in anything from a community health or education project to a tech startup. Professionals can drop-by, give a talk, socialize and inspire the youth when they are visiting the City, volunteer as a mentor/advisor of a project or a startup or even fund anything that impresses them!
