Murala is a town and union council of Mandi Bahauddin District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located at 32°31'60N 73°37'60E and has an altitude of 212 metres (698 feet). Murala is situated 25 km in the East of the city of Mandi Bahauddin and 12 km in the north of city of Phalia and 10 km in the south of Town of Chailianwala. The town is situated on a high mound and another mound is situated about one kilometer in south, containing terraces of the ancient history. Many folk stories are attributed to the town dating back to the Mughal period. A major canal flows near the town, which is known as Rasul-Qadir Abad Link Canal. The population of village is about 15,000.Neighbouring villages and townsIn the north of town, there are seven villages of the Sahi Caste named; Dhoke Kasib, Dhoke Nawan Lok, Dhoke Jorri, Dhoke Daud, Dhoke Murad and Dhoke Saharan. In the east side of town, there are Makhananwali, Rasul Pur, Kotly Qazi. In the south side of town, are Bagganwala, Daburji and Helan are situated. In the western side of town, there are many villages like Chorund, Jaisak, Ker Bawa, Dhoke Shahani etc.People working abroadA large number of people of the town are working abroad to earn livelihood across the globe; i.e. in USA, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Greek, South Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, U.A.E. etc.Schools, colleges, and mosquesThere are two Government Boys High schools and one Government Girls Higher Secondary School in the village.
