Malak Mala is a village in the Chachh region of Attock District in Northern Punjab of Pakistan. It lies close to the borders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Its neighboring villages include Barazai, Behbudi, Shinka, Nartopa and Ghorghushti town.Locally notable people; Two brothers Baziz Khan and Ashraf Khan were police officials. Muhammad Umar Khan alias Khan Sahib was a Superintendent of Police in Sindh, before the partition of India. He was one of the few Muslim officers in British Indian Police awarded a sword and a title (Khan Saab) by the British Governor. Proud of Malak Mala Mr. Muhammad Sarfraz Khan Brigadier Pak Army is belonging to this village also.The History of Malak Mala is related to the history of chhachh / Indus river Civilization, as narrated that the area of "Chhachh" was like a bowl and flooded under water, by the time the limits of indus river been limited by the nature and the local settled nearer the water of indus river as well.The Area of Malak Mala was also ruled as area of chhachh, details has been mentioned in the history, but on 28 April 1758 The Battle of Attock was took place between Maratha Empire and the Durrani Empire. the Maratha Empire's general Raghunath Rao attacked and drove out Timur Shah Durrani, the son and viceroy of Ahmad Shah Abdali. Attock was captured. Raghunathrao left Punjab after three months appointing Maratha Sardar Narsoji Pandit with 4000 Maratha troops to guard the fort from Afghans. In 1761, following the victory at the Third battle of Panipat between the Durrani and the Maratha Empire, Ahmad Shah Abdali captured remnants of the Maratha Empire in Punjab and Kashmir regions and had re-consolidated control over them.After this war, the Abdalian Government awarded the Manors (Jageer) to the notable fighters. Mr Shamsher Khan (Umar Zai) was rewarded the Manor (Jageer) of Malak Mala. Mr. Shamshair Khan along with his family, Brothers and father namely Naurang Khan settled in this village as a Jageerdar.
