At Learning Curve, we pride ourselves in quickly recognising individual needs and providing opportunities through which the children can achieve their personal goals and further their abilities. Our staff has a thorough understanding of the EYFS curriculum and by working closely with parents we ensure smooth transitions and the best early start in life.

Early Years Foundation Stage British Curriculum sets the standards for learning, development and care at Learning Curve and supports our work in the Day Care for children 6 months to 3 years of age. By adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we are able to cover all areas of learning, and monitor the children’s progress through careful planning and observations.

The EYFS principles are divided into 4 themes:
• A Unique Child: Focuses around development, inclusion, health & safety and well-being.
• Positive Relationships: Focuses on a child’s strength and independence on the basis of secure relationships
• Enabling Environments: Focuses around observation, assessment & planning, support for every child, the learning environment and the wider context.
• Learning & Development: Recognises that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates

The EYFS is made up of seven areas of learning and development:
Three prime areas:

• Physical Development
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Four specific areas:
• Expressive Arts and Design
• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Understanding the World
