House of Learning

House of Learning is a platform for girl students belonging to poor background for better education and an opportunity for them to succeed in life. Here we admit girls who belong from any of the following categories such as Families below Poverty line, Widow headed family, Landless or marginal farmers, Belonging to the lower cast or category, Low educational qualification and Agricultural Laborer etc. but show promise and an inclination towards getting educated.

This is normally decided by taking into consideration their educational indicators in their respective classes. Detailed discussions are also held with school teachers and principals to make a proper assessment of the students before admitting them to be part of this initiative.

At present PLAN Foundation in collaboration with YMAD has adopted 11 girls. Quality facilities are being provided them at " House of Learning"

After running this project successfully for 3 years, we are now looking forward to expand the intake of children and be able to make a larger impact. Kindly support us.

Volunteering:
We also accept volunteers under this program to get involved with our students for teaching/picnics/other constructive activities like teach music, dance, Art etc. and spread SMILES throughout. The beauty of the Himalayas and the Chamba valley makes volunteering a perfect work+holiday package.
