Hamdam Development Organization

Hamdam Development Organization (HDO) is a non-profit and non-political organization based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) & Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA), Pakistan. HDO has been working since 1994 and since its inception; HDO is determined to serve the community with taking care of their issues and preferences. Commitment to the work is one of prime principle of HDO and with the support of community members and all the other stakeholders, HDO managed to deliver the results in various sectors. HDO has been working in the southern belt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the currently it has been carrying out certain interventions in district D.I.Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Tank and South Waziristan Agency. In this long journey, HDO got opportunities to work for the disadvantage & deprived community of these areas. It has established its credibility among inhabitants and government line departments including civil society organizations and all stakeholders.

For year 1995 onward, the HDO has implemented all together 29 projects so far with national and international donors and development partners on agriculture, livelihood, infrastructure, income generation activities for women, primary health care including hygiene promotion, peace, fundamental including child rights, population welfare, vocation and adult literacy, promotion of accountability, voters education campaign and emergency relief and rehabilitation.

HDO undertook various projects with different UN agencies like UNDP, UNFAO, UNFPA and WHO besides working with INGOs like IDRF Canada, NHRF Norway, Concern Worldwide-USAID, NRSP-USAID, TDEA-USAID, The Asia Foundation, KESSA DIMITRA Greece, Australian High Commission (AusAID), Embassy of Japan. HDO has also availed the opportunities to associate with internal, national, regional, local donors, government institution, NGOs, CBOs, CSOs and different communities. Support of Decentralization Support program (DSP) Islamabad, Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) Islamabad, National Trust for Population Welfare (NATPOW) Islamabad, Social Welfare Department D.I.Khan, Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), Trust for Voluntary organizations (TVO) Islamabad, Dost Welfare Foundation Peshawar, Sungi Development Foundation Abbottabad, Insan Foundation Trust Rawalpindi and Khwendo Kor (KK) Peshawar has enriched the experience of HDO.

Area of Operation:

The organization has a head office and two field offices and its outreach is in Districts D.I.Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat & Bannu of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), District Bhakkar of Punjab, FR D.I.Khan & FR Tank and South Waziristan Agency (SWA) of FATA Pakistan.

Our stakeholders broadly comprise marginalized communities including women, children and youth and donors, government & development partners.
