HISTORY OF JAHANIAN COLLEGE


In the debates recently held under the directive of the Chief’ Minister of the Punjab, students of this college stood first in different contests/categories of writing and speaking skills. In these contests, most of students emerged as position holders from the institution at District Level. Apart from this, this college also has the credit to publish its Literary Magazine “SAFEERI- JAHANIAN” which is unique in its “publication”.

This institution has achieved its name and fame within a short span of period and has won the sympathies of the parents of students due to its excellent performance and good-will.

“Zeshan Akram” the student of this college has got third position in General Science group in the Intermediate result of BISE Multan in 2008. And as a result of his excellency, Chief Minister of the Punjab has awarded him not only 02 Lac net cash but also a certificate of merit. Along-with the teaching staff of the college has also been awarded Rs. 01 Lac, collectively the students and the staff feel great pleasure, pride and prestige at this extraordinary encouragement shown by the Chief-Minister of the Punjab.

Total area of Govt. Degree College Jahanian is six and a half acre. It has academic as well as administrative blocks. There are 12 class rooms along with a computer lab in the college which is being run by private company. Despite this, there are also Laboratories for the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, at Inter level. There is a “Library” which is consisted of five thousand and five hundred books. Teachers and students get full benefit out of this Library.

There is also very beautiful, grand and magnificent Mosque within the premises of the college which has been got constructed by “Haji Nazeer Ahmad” a well-known philanthropist of Jahanian. A beautiful grassy Lawn and small play ground are worth-seeing which add to the beauty of college.

Not withstanding all these things, the college still requires some thing more for its benefit and betterment to start B.Sc classes with B.A classes.

In the view of the aforesaid demands/requirements, a request has been made to the Secretary Higher Education Govt. of the Punjab, for its earlier provision. It is also hoped that the Educational Emergency Policy of the Chief-Minister of the Punjab will ensure the speedy fulfillment of the said demands.
