District Government, Haripur

For the first time in the history of Pakistan, a true effect has been made to devolve the powers at the grass-root level by a political Government. None of the elected governments had the will or the intention to hand over the power to the elected councilors at grass-root level except Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, which is the spirit of Section 40-A of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The people now feel that they are part of a system where they have a say in administrative decisions, financial matters and political powers.

My message to all elected public representatives of District, Tehsil and Village/Neighbourhood Councils of District Haripur is that you are the ones who will decide the fate of this country and that what laws you want for yourselves, which stand for a true and powerful Local Government system where people at grass-root level will decide everything for themselves instead of MPAs, MNAs and Senators. Let’s join our hands for betterment of living standards of our community and improvement in all fields of life. A civilized society and a developed Haripur District should be our dream.
