District BAR Association Shangla

The history of “District Bar Association Shangla” begins since 1985 when a few Advocates started their practice as lawyers in Shangla par (old name of Shangla) sub-division.

Shangla sub-divisional Bar Association was established in 1985, when Shangla Par was a sub-division of District Swat. After a long movement and struggle of the people of Shangla and especially of the lawyers community efforts succeeded and on July 10, 1995 the then chief minister of NWFP (Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao announced the up gradation of Shangla to the status of district and hence the Bar also evaluated to the status of district Bar i-e “District Bar Association Shangla”. Here I would like to mention that all the lawyers of the Bar belong to respectable, social and political families. The lawyers’ community of the Shangla keeps a vigilant eye on each and every aspect of the Shangla along with their legal profession. The very organize movement of the lawyers community and their vital role and struggle for development of Shangla is not hidden from any one.
