Professor Khaleeque Ahmed Siddiqui Ilizarov Surgery Unit

Professor Khaleeque Ahmed Siddique Ilizarov Surgery Unit is established in Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro in Department of Orthopedic Surgery & Traumatology, Ward 11 as an independent unit in May 2011. This is the first separate Ilizarov unit ever in Pakistan. There is no contribution of Government or University in its foundation.
This unit have total 7 beds (4 reserved for male patients and 3 for female patients) which are very limited due to unavailibilty of funds. This needs atleast 20 beds. To manage this problem large number of patients are waiting for their turn of operation until the beds are vacant. However, emergency cases are always given priority for early surgery depending on undividual case.
This unit has 1 computer operator, 3 nurseing staff, 3 ward boys, 3 sweepers working in each shift (morning, evening, night). All of them are payed by privately generated funds.
There are total 5 post graduates working in ward under supervision of Dr Asadullah Makhdoom.
On every Tuesday morning OPD is carried out to admit new patients and for follow up of previously operated cases.
There is also a Zakat system to afford the cost of Ilizarov External Fixator for needy patients.
