Karachi Scuba Diving Center (KSDC)

Karachi Scuba Diving Center (KSDC) was established in the year 1989, it is a pioneering effort By Yousuf Ali, PADI Master Instructor and Mechanical Engineer from Karachi, Pakistan. KSDC’s goal is to organize and promote swimming, lifesaving, skin diving and scuba diving through training and instructional programs.

KSDC’s aim is to increase awareness, responsibility and education of marine life by providing training programs and other important information to the general public, particularly universities and schools, social clubs and NGOs. We hope that over a period of time people will realize the importance of protecting our beaches, marine life and environment. Making documentaries on Environmental awareness, Protection of Marine life, Pollution, and safety on Beaches

Scuba Diving
Scuba Diving is a healthy sport, and not only sports but also it is of its own science. It enlightens people to respect and protect our fragile environment, educate people on, water-safety, beach rescue, oceans, and its currents, beautiful fauna and flora. This sport also edify us about the underwater world, eye catching coral reefs, colourful tropical fishes and chunky underwater-forest beyond our imagination.

It teaches self-confidence to the meek and humility to the bold, initiative to the withdrawn and philosophy to all
It teaches us to take infinite pains and build characters, determination and cool judgment
Mention should be made of the camaraderie in the diving sorority.

Scuba Diving is Fun Diving, thanks to the technology in today’s world a child of 8 years of age Girl/Boy can learn to Scuba dive and have fun, The positive thing in this sport is, that it is a family sport, even grand mama can join the class and enjoy as much as her granddaughter.


Being a marine engineer working for Ministry of Electricity and Water Dubai UAE, as a Power Station Superintendent decided to take up a new water sports “Scuba Diving” as a hobby, the first breath underwater and I was hooked for life having qualified as a “PADI Open Water diver” in 1979.

Carried on education and Graduated as a Professional “Gold Scuba Diving Instructor” with ten (7) Specialties, from PADI College San Diego, California in 1982.

• Rescue Diver (Trained by Padi & Cost Guard San Diego California.
• Research diver, worked with Dr. Kobayashi. (Institute of Oceanography California).

He has trained more than 6000 students throughout the world.
Become a member of “PADI Master Instructor Review Committee” Santa Ana, California, USA.
Acquired “Rescue Diving Instructor” status, trained by Coast Guard San Diego California.
Being Rescue Diver Instructor he was privileged to trained Dubai Police, the first “Frogman team” in the gulf.

Worked with Dr. J Kobiachi at Script Institute of Oceanography, California.
Explored the Pakistan coast line and organized Seminar at the motel in Gawader (2003) inviting all the scientist from Karachi University, NIO, Sindh Wild Life, WWF-Pak, sending the message to Islamabad not to pollute Gawader as they did in Karachi Port.
Completed Project # 50037401 “Listing Changes in Biodiversity of rocky Coast of Buleji cove and sandy beach of turtle nesting ground Hawks Bay” Sponsored by WWF-Pakistan 2005
Successfully completed Expedition trip to Jiwani and Astola Island Balochistan. (Feb. 2006)
Has been interviewed by all leading TV Channels in Pakistan as well as by CNN, BBC, APS.
Being “Scuba Instructor” she has the privilege and responsibility of introducing community to the exciting world of SCUBA DIVING and MARINE CONSERVATION.


Rosheen is Pakistan’s first ever female qualified “Master Scuba Diver Trainer” (PADI-MSDT) from PADI California, USA and a Law Graduate from S. M. Law College, Karachi

2009, Rosheen received extensive training and become Pakistan’s First female Scuba Diving Instructor with 9 Specialties Instructor rating: -
