Comsats Institute of Information Technology Abbottabad

The award of ISO 9001:2010 Certification is yet another proud achievement for COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. To celebrate this achievement a certificate distribution ceremony was held on September 12, 2010 at the Video Conference Hall, CIIT Chack Shahzad Islamabad Campus.

Dr. Engineer Akram Sheikh (H.I) graced the occasion as the chief guest. The ceremony was attended by the Rector CIIT, Deans, Principal Officers, Directors of the campuses, Head of departments and other distinguished professors. Mr. Sarfraz Pirzada, Advisor QEC welcomed the honorable chief guest and all other guests. He said that granting of ISO Certification to CIIT is the manifestation of the fact that the systems’ approach is a fact of life at CIIT based on detailed and updated procedures and processes and that the ISO certification is the beginning of a new phase in the implementation of the quality standards at CIIT.

Mr. Abdual Ghaffar, the representative the ISO consultants M/S Cons Tech informed the audience that with this certification CIIT has joined only a handful of the universities in the country who have achieved this proud distinction.

Dr. Engr Akram Sheikh, the Chief Guest in his thought provoking speech expressed the importance of quality with the reference of the teaching of Holy Quran and Sunnah. He said that the development of quality standards is one of the core concepts of Islam. He also shared his views about the developing and maintaining quality standards in our lives and their impact on us. He appreciated the efforts of the Rector CIIT and his team in making CIIT a distinguished house of learning.
